Lawrence Matsuda’s 2010 poetry collection, A Cold Wind from Idaho, is a remarkable piece of artistic testimony from his childhood, spent in the Minidoka war relocation center in Idaho. Rafu Shimpo, a Japanese newspaper based in LA, covers a recent reading and writes that the collection consists of “tactile, powerful prose, anchored by his sense of right and wrong.”
