Greg Nicholl is the recipient of the 2021 River Styx International Poetry Contest and was named a finalist for the 2026 National Poetry Series. His poetry has appeared in Best New Poets 2023, Gulf Coast, Nimrod, North American Review, River Styx, Smartish Pace, West Branch, and elsewhere. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Greg has lived in Washington State, Germany, New Jersey, New York, Idaho, Baltimore, Boston, Ohio, and most recently Asheville, North Carolina.
