Isaac Pickell

Raised in the paperback section of his parents’ used bookstore, Isaac Pickell is a passing poet & PhD student at Wayne State University in Detroit, where he studies the borderlands of blackness and black literature. A graduate of Miami University’s MFA program, his poems have been featured in Black Warrior ReviewFence, The Missouri Review OnlineNinth LetterPuerto del SolSixth Finch, and elsewhere. Isaac is the founding editor of The Woodward Review, a fledgling journal of creative and critical writing. He has taken a seat in all fifty states and has so much to look forward to.
