Daniel B. Summerhill

Daniel B. Summerhill is author of Divine, Divine, Divine (Black Lawrence Press 2021), and Mausoleum of Flowers (CavanKerry 2022). His work appears in Columbia Journal, Ploughshares, The Indiana Review, Obsidian, Callaloo, Academy of American Poets, The Wall Street Journal and elsewhere. He’s earned fellowships from Baldwin for the Arts, Esperimento sul Respiro and The Watering Hole. An Oakland native, Summerhill is a Professor of Poetry at Santa Clara University and is the Inaugural Poet Laureate of Monterey County. Daniel believes in the liberation of oppressed peoples everywhere, especially through the dissolution of empire.
